Carleton University's School of Public Policy and Administration will launch a new Master of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership degree and graduate diploma in the summer of 2013. 

The program is rooted in two years of research and consultation by a coalition of senior Canadian fundraising professionals, practitioners and academics working together under the banner of Canada Advancing Philanthropy. Hilborn salutes the future-focused philanthropy professionals who helped Carleton create the program:

The successful birth of the program would be enough cause for our sector to celebrate. But there's more. A gift of $350,000 from TD Bank Group will fund scholarships for the program.

In a press release issued September 6, Carleton says, "The new program is designed to help current non-profit professionals enhance their skills and to produce the next generation of innovators in charities, social enterprises, philanthropic foundations and development offices, as well as the governments, financial institutions and businesses that interact with them. Through a combination of intensive summer sessions and interactive online learning, it will be accessible to students across Canada."
